Lettings Officer needed in Dorset £13.02 per hr PAYE – Reference: 5211866
This role will involve:
- To administer the client’s choice based lettings scheme, including maintaining all necessary records, and nominating all properties available to the client in line with the Housing Allocations Policy, and the requirements of the Housing Act 1996 Part VI as amended by the Homelessness Act 2002.
- To provide advice to Housing Register applicants and colleagues on matters relating to allocations, bidding, applications and interviewing where necessary. This may include housing register, choice-based lettings, housing benefit, specialist housing providers, social housing providers, Homeswapper, Homebuy, shared ownership and mutual exchanges.
- To liaise with housing associations regarding adverts and nominations and general queries relating to nominations, allocations, appeals and applicants.
- Challenge social landlords on adverse allocation decisions affecting applicants on the housing register in accordance with the Allocations Policy.
- Provide private landlord support service – generating tenancy documents, renewal notifications, eviction advice, rent increases, income maximisation through benefits advice/referral, evictions process and assisting them in court attendance where necessary.
- To carry out inventories and set up tenancies.
This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
