This role will involve:
As a qualified solicitor or barrister with a good knowledge of planning law the post holder will be asked to provide a comprehensive legal service to the planning department – one of the most high profile areas of the client. The post holder’s work will include drafting a range of Section 106 Agreements including those relating to high profile strategic developments; case managing complex planning inquiries, advising clients both in writing and orally, drafting licenses and Agreements relating to highways matters and clearing Committee reports. On occasion the post holder will be called upon to manage high profile cases attracting a high level of public interest.
Ideally, candidates will have a working knowledge of local government law. Besides planning law the post holder will also preferably have a basic knowledge of the other areas covered by the team including highways and licensing. As well as the post holder’s existing skills, it will be equally important for the post holder to have the ability to develop their abilities and to adapt to constantly evolving legislation and client requirements.
This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis
