Full time hours on a temporary basis.
Working alongside the IT Desktop Support team, the role focuses on deployment of Windows 10 Laptops to our staff. You will be facilitating handover sessions to groups of employees.
Typically, your role in deployment sessions will involve:
Welcoming staff and making introductions
General housekeeping and registering attendance
Issuing new laptops, adaptors etc. and registering them in our asset management system (Assist)
Collecting old devices and decommissioning (what does this person need to do for decomm?)
Helping staff log into their new devices and upload BCP video content so that they can follow instructions on what to do next (downloading applications etc.)
Helping with basic troubleshooting and answering questions. Referring any tricky issues to the Desktop Support Engineer
Ensuring the session flows and keeps good time (up to a max of 2 hours per session)
You will also support the Desktop Support team with pre-deployment support, unboxing devices and connecting them on desks. After the sessions you will help with clearing up, ensuring packaging is removed. You will also monitor the post deployment Teams chat and help respond to any queries which may be posted after the sessions are complete.
You will need to have the following skills:
Strong communication skills, and confidence dealing with groups of staff.
Time management is essential to ensure the deployments continue at pace.
An understanding and experience of deploying IT hardware, preferably in an IT technical support or 2nd line IT support environment.
Experience in Active Directory, Windows 10, OneDrive, Teams, Edge Chromium and EndPoint
An understanding of asset management principles is also desirable.
