Housing assessment officer working remotely £16.03ph ref 5510
Working full time hours on a temporary basis.
Carry out assessment and establish the homelessness duties owed under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and write decisions letters.
Effectively manage a caseload.
A team player who is articulate, organised and able to work under pressure to deliver a robust housing assessment service.
Effective participation of the duty rota which includes triage interviews, phone and email activities.
Able to learn and appropriately use various IT systems.
Able to talk to applicants about their housing options including the housing registers and identify households who may need some intervention to prevent the escalation of their housing difficulties.
Provide appropriate housing advice and options to applicants, internal and external agencies.
Have a working knowledge of housing legislation, the local and national policy context, welfare reform and statutory instruments relating to Homelessness and Social Inclusion.
