Housing Advisor Full Time Temporary

Housing Advisor needed in Barnsley paying £15.12 per hr PAYE – Reference: 0005 FACF / 1

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis

 This role will involve:

• To provide a comprehensive and professional service to members of the public and other key stakeholders. This will be via a telephone advice line and face to face appointments and could be in a number of locations including town centre or satellite locations in the community.
• To carry out all necessary enquires in line with the legislation and make statutory decisions. Ensuring that all requests are processed effectively within the appropriate timescales.
• To work with partner agencies to develop a proactive approach and to encourage and support partner agencies in this approach through multi agency working
• To provide specialist casework and advocacy on an individual case work basis and to represent clients in tribunals and court where appropriate
• To create links with a range of accommodation providers including private landlords, social housing and supported housing providers and lending institutions to reduce the potential for homelessness for existing residents where this is possible and reasonable to do so, and to improve access to accommodation and support.
