Head Of Audit And Governance needed in Nuneaton paying £25.77 per hr ref 5206492

Full time hours on a temporary basis.

This role will involve:

• To prepare the annual audit plan in consultation with the s151 Officer to ensure that it is continually monitored and reviewed.
• To ensure that all Service Units adhere to financial controls and systems required for the control of budgets, expenditure and income and the safeguarding of assets and provide advice to employees and members when necessary to improve the control environment and develop appropriate policies and procedures, having regard for current legislative requirements.
• To undertake value for money reviews and identify improved practices that would generate savings.
• To maintain a continuous internal audit service and appropriate liaison with the external auditor and ensure that the requirements of the internal and external audit protocol document are adhered to.
• To manage the fraud function and develop policies and procedures in relation to fraud and corruption and provide assistance and procedural advise to management in relation to specific internal investigations
• To take the lead in investigations as and when required and liaise with the Police as necessary.
• To produce and develop the Risk Management Policy, Strategy and other risk management related documents as required.
