This is a full time temporary contract.
Our client is looking for an Environmental Health Officer. To work across a range of areas to influence decisions and to control a range of behaviours and environmental factors that can affect the health and wellbeing of people in East Devon. The successful candidate will undertake inspections, investigate complaints and provide enforcement, advice and support to the public, businesses and stakeholders to enable them to comply with the requirements of legislation, control environmental health nuisance and protect public health.
They will be enforcing Food Safety, Health and Safety, Environmental Protection, Housing, Port Health and Public Health legislation in accordance with policies and procedures through premises inspections and investigating accidents, enquiries and complaints an providing advice and support to Members, other agencies, proprietors, staff and the public concerning food safety, health and safety, nuisance, pollution, housing, anti social behaviour and public health matters as appropriate.
