Covid Communications and Engagement Officer Contract Full Time

Covid Communications and Engagement Officer based in Watford and the rate is £22.23ph PAYE

This is a full time temporary contract role.

The successful candidate will be joining a busy communications team where there is always a lot happening, but generally its interesting and fun. The team is welcoming and are primarily homeworking but do meet in the office in Watford every Wednesday.

They will be working within the Communications team but with strong links to the Covid Response project team:

• To lead the communications and engagement approach and delivery for the council’s continued response to Covid-19 along with promoting general health wellbeing
• The emphasis will be on bringing creativity, innovation to campaigns and driving improved engagement across community, with a particular focus on the town’s communities and residents who experience health inequalities.
• The role will need to both devise and deliver a strategic and medium to long term approaches, as well as responding frequently to emerging changes in situation and supporting the operational delivery of interventions such as local webinars, community clinics and other measures.

Key Objectives are:

• To reduce transmission and case rates of covid within the community
• To increase the vaccine uptake across all residents to a minimum level of 90% of our population within all communities and areas.
• To raise awareness of general health and wellbeing and the support that’s available through clinics, Watford’s Healthy Hub and our Dementia Friendly Watford and Pensioners Forum initiatives.
