Category Manager Full Time Temporary

Category Manager needed in Barnsley paying £18.52 per hr PAYE Ref: 0005 14E7 / 1

This role is working full time hours on a temporary basis

Responsibilities:

• Take the lead in relation to nominated and agreed categories operating within a Category Management Structure
• To execute an annual procurement plan for the nominated category based on requirements defined as high value, risk and complexity
• To work closely with those commissioners associated with the agreed categories.
• Act as the expert for the procurement of the nominated categories and ensure that at all times that there is proper compliance with the overall Commissioning and Procurement Strategy and Contract Procedure Rules, Financial Regulations, European and UK Legislation on procurement
• Act as the market-facing arm of the client in relation to all goods and services to ensure the maintenance of pace with best practice and external market developments, Government and EU initiatives. Provide strategic, commercial and specialist procurement input
• Take day to day supervisory responsibility for a team dedicated to the nominated category of spend
• Development and implementation of agreed procurement strategies across the client for the given category, ensuring compliance to procedure, process and category management, prioritises improvement projects within the strategy in order to deliver optimum value for money to the client
• Management of stakeholders to promote the benefits of the category management approach; lead cross-functional teams to identify/challenge category requirements.

Ideally candidates will have;

• Professional Level 4 qualification in a relevant field (e.g. MCIPS).
• Willing to work towards a Professional Level 6 qualification in a relevant field (e.g. MCIPS) within two years of appointment into the post
• Post graduate qualification in relevant field
• Project / programme qualification (Prince 2/MSP)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft applications
