Assistant Director & Head of IT Operations Full Time Temporary

Assistant Director & Head of IT Operations needed in East London paying £550 per day PAYE Ref: 417105

This is working full time hours on a temporary basis

Responsibilities:

1. To be the key lead and accountable for following functions.
   • IT unified communications.
     • Servers
     • End user devices
     • Networks
     • Telephony
   • IT data centre, disaster recovery and BCP.
   • IT Service Desk
   • ITIL capacity, configuration and change management.
   • IT Traded Services (such as schools IT, Small businesses and Printing).
   • Line of Business Application support
   • Corporate Systems Application Support
   • IT Development Services
   • IT aspects of the online services.
   • Business analysis and process redesign associated with application systems.
2. To be responsible for all staff specialist/technical staff within in IT and key direct reports
3. To manage staff spread over various locations including remote and home workers. The multi-functional teams managed will also span across organisational boundaries
4. To lead the development of IT application strategies and roadmaps
5. Lead the IT strategy of the IT Service across multiple geographies in order to ensure that all agreed objectives, priorities, and financial targets are achieved on time
6. To manage revenue and capital/project budgets in the region of £30 million PA. To lead on the develop of specialist knowledge of IT application software and systems as well as online/web services
7. To lead on cross London and wider strategic decisions around cost savings and jointly beneficial projects and initiatives
8. To lead the strategic oversight of the creation, selection, procurement and implementation of complex IT systems
9. Lead on risk management and associated critical areas  , including IT Service Continuity and IT trading finances
10. To lead on strategic customer engagement and business development opportunities in support of the business plan
11. To lead, maintain and develop specialist knowledge of IT infrastructure, hosting/cloud, ITIL and associated services
12. Lead the provision of and delivery of quality services – ensuring a high level of service that is reflective of all customer needs and value for money
13. Leads and anticipates different customer needs – delivering a customer focused shared service which is a cultural ‘fit’, is flexible and proactive in approach
14. Leads and delivers a resilient business, which continually improves and innovates, with healthy revenue streams
15. Leads and ensure they is an ethos of joint working and operates across the board regardless of location.
16. Leads on capacity and capability to operate business as usual with the capacity and capability to innovate and project manage to support this
17. Leads a flexible and accessible platform to innovate, enhance market knowledge and continuously improve
18. Leads and Invests in people and skills to deliver a sustainable business

The ideal candidate:

• People management including motivation, performance and capability.
• Strategic leadership in the provision of IT functions relevant to the post.
• Service improvement, maximising efficiency and new delivery models for the functions within the shared service.
• Running significant operations or service provision
• Leading, managing and delivering transformational change in a complex organisation
• A relevant professional qualification and substantial management experience at a senior level.
• Advising on major IT projects.
• Advising on IT operations, infrastructure, procurement and information security
