Admissions and Awards Team Leader Full Time Temporary

Admissions and Awards Team Leader needed in Ilford £160.66 per day PAYE – Reference:450886

This role will involve:

• To lead a team responsible for delivering a customer-focused admissions and awards service, ensuring that all staff are trained to handle complex phone calls and emails from challenging customers, providing a high-quality service to parents showing empathy in a calm, professional and helpful manner, responding to emails in 10 working days or fewer
• To be responsible for admissions and awards processes to meet all statutory deadlines for the main admissions round, ensuring that information for parents is available on the internet, online applications are imported and that the IT systems are used effectively to ensure that places are offered correctly on national offer dates, maximising parental preference wherever possible
• To ensure that in-year admissions are handled promptly and that all applications are resolved within a week, importing batches and making offers from waiting lists regularly, ensuring email offers are issued to parents within a day
• To work with Head teachers to ensure that looked after children and those who may be hard to place are admitted to school quickly and to consider cases where children may be admitted over number, such as siblings or exceptional cases where a child is top of the waiting list

Ideally candidates will have:

• Educated to A level standard, professional qualification and/or equivalent through experience
• Experience of managing teams and individuals
• High degree of computer literacy with a working knowledge of software packages and databases i.e. Synergy, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant policies, procedures and legislation relating to school admissions.

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.
