This is working full time hours on a temporary basis.
Role - Manage and organise effective provision of a service through the delivery of high quality business support, projects and development functions for the Public Protection and Licensing Service to contribute to delivery of the objectives and priorities.Understand and demonstrate the client’s values and behaviours, working collaboratively with colleagues, partners and other stakeholders to help build a sustainable highly effective organisation and develop our reputation as a successful client delivering great value for its residents.
Specific responsibilities • Provide a reliable and comprehensive business support to the services, including advice, guidance and managing high profile and complex support issues. Provide operational service teams with a reliable source of office based service support in line with service requirements and council policies and procedures.• Manage and develop systems and processes for cross unit functions including finance, HR, IT, business continuity, health and safety, scheme of delegations and freedom of information. • Supervise and co-ordinate a highly quality ,responsive support and development service and contribute to the cohesive running of the team, providing advice, support and seeking opportunities to develop staff through supervised delegation of identified tasks• Identify, develop and deliver specific business support/service development projects to support the service in maintaining and promoting excellence in service delivery, personally take responsibility for a portfolio of operational service focused projects thoughout their lifecycle, co-ordinating input from key stakeholders and contributing to the projects as appropriate.• Improve the professional practices and standards of the unit by developing capacity within the work through the direct delivery of learning and development initiatives or the commissioning of these initiatives from external suppliers • Identify and support the design and implementation of potential new areas of service delivery.
